I'm currently working with support in trying to figure out why the input/output check boxes in the MIDI Info tab will not keep their state. We've tried firmware 1.1.0 and 1.1.1 with no luck.
The support person said he is testing with an iCA4+ running 1.1.0, and isn't having the problem. So I asked if we could try exporting the preset out of my unit, then he imports it into his, makes the MIDI check box changes, exports it from his, then I can import it into mine.
He agreed, so we gave it a shot. He was able to successfully import my preset, and was able to check all the check boxes and save it. He also made a change to the Device Name, then exported the preset and sent it to me.
When I go to import the preset into my unit, the screen just flashes, but doesn't appear to update anything. The Device Name is still what I set it to (not what the support guy set it to), and all the MIDI check boxes are still unchecked.
Could the whole MIDI check box issue be related to the same fault as the preset loading issue? Maybe both of these functions require writing to the NVRAM in such a way where it's not successful?
I saw a previous post, from a while back, where another user was having the same check box problem. He said a support person had him load a sysex file in bootloader mode, to clear out the NVRAM, before pushing 1.1.0 back onto his unit. And apparently this fixed the issues.
Here's the thread I'm talking about:

Does anyone know what this file is, or how to get it?
This piece of equipment is a really great idea, and audio wise it's working very nicely; but the MIDI piece has been very difficult due to these bugs.
